Description
The Singapore Accounting Symposium, jointly organized by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Singapore Management University (SMU), aims to advance accounting research and foster innovation across the Asia-Pacific region. This symposium underscores Singapore’s pivotal role as a hub for collaboration among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers, thereby enhancing the global relevance of accounting as a discipline.
The symposium will spotlight interdisciplinary research in accounting, emphasizing its implications for informed decision-making and effective resource allocation. Participants will engage with various topics related to creating and managing firm value, including managerial incentive designs, resource planning and forecasting, and strategic decision-making processes. Central to these discussions is the intersection of accounting with economic principles to optimize resource allocation, boost productivity, and support sustainable growth.

• Professor Shiva Rajgopal
Roy Bernard Kester and T.W. Byrnes Professor of Accounting and Auditing, Columbia University
• Professor Lakshmanan (Shiva) Shivakumar
