The Department of Economics, Finance and Legal Studies at the Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professors of Finance beginning August 16, 2025. Primary duties include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, engaging in a research program that results in outstanding scholarly publications, and performing service as assigned by the Department, College, and University.
Required qualifications: (1) A doctoral degree in Finance or Economics (in hand or completed by August 16, 2025); (2) a high-quality research agenda, and current working/published papers; (3) demonstrated excellence in teaching.

About the Organization
The Finance program offers degrees at the undergraduate, Masters and Ph.D. levels. The Masters programs include a full-time MBA, a weekend MBA program for executives, and a one-year MS in Finance (MSF). The department offers an excellent research environment including travel support, an active seminar series and Ph.D. graduate research assistants. Departmental faculty have published in many of the top journals in Finance (such as JF, JFE, RFS, JFQA, RoF, RCFS and RAPS), Economics (e.g., AER, Econometrica, QJE, REStud, REStat, Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Law and Economics), and related fields (e.g., JAE, and MgtSc). The College has state-of-the art facilities for both teaching and research including multimedia classrooms, subscriptions to WRDS and an excellent set of databases.
