Job Description & Qualification

Job description: The successful candidate has a proven track record of excellent internationally recognized research and is
expected to develop fundamental research projects in social workrelated fields oriented towards application and intervention on social work issues. The successful candidate will teach courses to doctoral students in social work, specializing in qualitative
and mixed research methods at the doctoral level, with selected courses open to MA students. The candidate will furthermore
contribute to the management of the Transdisciplinary Institute of Social Work (ITTS) within in the Faculty of Economics and Business (FSE). Experience in the acquisition of third-party funding is a plus, as is a comprehensive understanding of the field and its network. The candidate will offer courses at the faculty, work in cooperation with other faculties, other disciplines, and other institutions (in particular Universities of Applied Sciences).

Requirements: Applicant must hold a PhD in social work or another related discipline in the social sciences. The candidate
should demonstrate strong coaching and teaching abilities, along with a deep understanding of theoretical models and practical issues in social work, both domestically and internationally. Moreover, candidates should have extensive experience
in empirical methods and social work research with a track record of high-level scientific publications of international significance, as well as ongoing research with great potential in social work. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate
a vision for the Transdisciplinary Institute of Social Work (ITTS) and its operations, as well as management skills. Courses will be taught in English. French is the official administrative language of the University. Non-French speakers are expected to acquire working knowledge of French after a two-year period. German is a clear advantage.
