Postdoctoral Research Position in Accounting
Job Description & Qualification
The Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt University invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellowship in accounting. The post-doctoral researcher in accounting will work closely with Owen’s faculty on research projects related to auditing, corporate governance, financial reporting and disclosure choices, ESG reporting, managerial accounting, and cost accounting. The candidate will be housed at Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management but will have the opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary team spanning accounting, finance, economics, operations management, and business. In order to be consider for the position, candidates must have a background in Accounting and/or Economics/Finance.
Our preference is for candidates who have recently (within the past two years) completed their PhD degree (post-doc). Candidates with more experience who have direct interest in this research area are also welcomed to apply. We are interested in candidates who will produce research of excellent quality that will have significant impact on the field and result in potential publications in top tier journals. The successful candidate could start in August 2025 for a one-year appointment (with the possibility of renewal for an additional year). Salary commensurate with degree and experience including an excellent benefits package.

About the Organization
The Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University is dedicated exclusively to graduate management education. It has an enrollment of over 600 full‐time students in its full‐time MBA, Executive MBA, Master of Science in Finance, Masters of Accountancy, Masters of Marketing, and Masters of Management in Health Care programs. The school's 50 full‐time faculty members are actively engaged in research, which is supported in part through the school's four research centers.
