In cooperation with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, the Materials Science Research Network (MatSciRN) is pleased to announce the International Symposium on Innovation & Technology in the Phosphate Industry (SYMPHOS) 2019 eJournal. This eJournal is available to all subscribers at no charge and contains abstracts of the meeting papers with links to the full text in the SSRN eLibrary.
The 5th edition of SYMPHOS, organized by OCP Group and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University from October 7 to 9, 2019 at UM6P in Benguerir, Morocco, brought together 1050 participants representative of the global phosphate ecosystem: industry players, manufacturers and equipment suppliers, designers of new technologies, start-ups and research institutes. In 2019, SYMPHOS, the International Symposium on Innovation and Technology in the Phosphate Industry, had for a theme: "Innovation and disruptive technologies for a sustainable phosphate industry". In total, 18 themes were covered with a focus on "smart" fertilizers, disruptive technologies, the environment and sustainability, the circular economy and the optimization of processes and resources. Green hydrogen, the role of ammonia (an essential element in soil fertilization), and the challenges of digitalization and artificial intelligence were the overarching themes of this edition. An exhibition space was dedicated for a hundred companies who exhibited their new technologies and know-how around the phosphate industry.
