Abstract

The microsimulation models (of different kind) are used for the measurement of transport efficiency and as the road planning instrument. There is also a strong desire to embed traffic modelling as a tool for the tuning up of intelligent traffic system strategies. In the current paper we point on several challenges that modellers are facing. These problems should be assessed if we want to avoid mathematical and logical flaws that lead to wrong conclusions. The answer to these questions is the use of real traffic data obtained from traffic control systems.
