Decoding the Twitter Sentiments Towards the Leadership in the Times of COVID-19: A Case of USA and India

Abstract

Following the crisis of COVID-19, majority of the world leaders have opted for lockdown, either complete or partial. Two major countries in focus worldwide are USA and India. This study has been conducted in order to assess the sentiments and emotions of the citizens of these two countries in reference to their leaders i.e. Donald Trump in USA and Narendra Modi in India. This study concludes that the sentiments of the Americans are way more negative as compared to the sentiments of Indians. While in India, the trust quotient is more, USA showed more emotions related to surprise.
