Abstract

The global focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education has increased in recent years. In light of the growing dependence of the global economy on technological progress, the demand for a proficient STEM workforce has become of utmost importance. Nevertheless, the United States, formerly at the forefront of STEM education, is currently encountering difficulties. This review examines the evolving state of STEM education in the United States, drawing comparisons with other prominent countries such China, India, Japan, and Russia. Through the examination of statistics, official publications, and industry trends, the review contend that the United States has relinquished its position of superiority in STEM education among young people. The report also examines possible consequences and suggestions for rejuvenating STEM education in the United States.
